Jim Sharp, CRPS, is a partner at 401k SAFE, and supports the sales efforts of retirement plan advisors across the country. He also manages the marketing efforts of 401k SAFE including the content of sales material, webinars, and support of both recordkeeper and TPA wholesalers.
In 2005, Jim began educating plan sponsors about ERISA fiduciary responsibility. He co-authored an article for the Community Bankers Association of Alabama in 2005 that highlighted the fiduciary responsibilities and potential liability of sponsoring a 401(k). He was involved with the initial rollout of 401k SAFE in 2009, and subsequent national rollout in 2010.
Jim began his career as a commercial lines producer for McGriff, Seibels and Williams, one of the largest commercial property and casualty firms in the country. In the 1990’s Jim served as National Sales Manager for Keswick Associates, a human resource software consulting firm formed in Atlanta from Dun & Bradstreet Software, and in 1999, joined Oracle as a regional sales manager for Oracle’s HR and ERP software applications. Jim left the software industry in 2003 to lead the sales and marketing for amsource’s human resource outsourcing services.
Jim received a B.A. in finance from Birmingham Southern College in 1987. Jim is active in youth ministry and was the founder and former chairman of Birmingham Vida Nueva, a youth retreat ministry for teenagers in central and north Alabama.
